DW 40 is an oil based product which also contains solvent that allows rapid penetration to difficult to reach areas. When applied the solvent evaporates leaving an oily film which lubricates components allowing immovable parts to be manipulated.
As well as been used a penetrant DW 40 may also be used as a short term rust preventative, the product exhibits excellent dewatering properties.

This stuff is brilliant, I use it for everything metal in the garden, from mower blades to metal garden ornaments I've made, it has excellent water repellent properties, this is the second lot I've bought, well recommended.
